They say seek, and you will find. The Finder terminates the production of the 44.52 and 44.62 series relays and replaces it with the 40.62 series. He found a better solution at a lower price.
Virtually every manufacturer; Finder not being an exception; offers the 29x25x12.5mm electromechanical relay. And they are among the most popular, perhaps because they have a transparent case and the technicians can "see inside".
Series 44 contained only 2 versions of relays - 6A and 10A (maximum continuous current), with two changeover contacts and coils for DC only. Therefore, it is logical that we will now look for the solution within much richer and wider Series 40, now being extended to the 40.62 (10A) item that will replace both the previous 44.52 (6A) and 44.62 (10A) relays.
The new series 40.62 meets the requirements of the European standard EN 60335-1, “Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 1: General requirements”; clause 30 prescribes that insulated parts supporting connections that carry current exceeding 0.2 A (and the insulated parts within a distance of 3 mm from them) must comply with the following 2 requirements with respect to resistance to fire:
● GWFI (Glow Wire Flammability Index) of 850°C - Compliance with glow wire flammability test at 850°C (according to EN 60695-2-12).
● GWIT (Glow Wire Ignition Temperature) of 775°C according to EN 60695-2-13 - This requirement can be verified with a GWT (Glow Wire Test according to EN 60695-2-11) at a value of 750°C with flame extinction within 2 seconds.
These blue relays have therefore the green for the “white” household and similar electrical appliances.
The new 40.62 series relays are normally available with two types of contact materials:
● The standard is AgNi - these contacts are characterized by high wear resistance and medium resistance to welding. It is suitable for resistive and slightly inductive loads with a continuous and tripping current of up to 12A and a switching current of up to 25A.
● The second option is AgSnO2 - this is the most acceptable substitute for cadmium-containing materials. These contacts have excellent resistance to welding. They are suitable for circuits with inrush current up to 120A, suitable for lamps and capacitive loads and for very high Inrush current.
The basic 12 and 24V versions of the new 40.62 series are included in our stock range and are immediately available, additional versions will be added continuously.
