Sensor simulation for HIL engine demo the centerpiece of Pickering Interfaces booth at Space-Comm Expo Europe
Pickering Interfaces, the leading supplier of modular signal switching and simulation solutions for use electronic test and verification, will showcase its sensor simulation for HIL engine demo on stand A46 at the upcoming Space-Comm Expo Europe 2026, which takes place on Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th of March at Excel London, UK.
The demo fits in Pickering’s 8-slot Gen3 PXIe modular chassis (42-924), featuring an intelligent chassis management system that monitors the power supply voltage, internal temperature, and cooling fan speed. Inside the chassis, there are a number of Pickering PXI modules, including:
The demo also features a PXIe digitizer from National Instruments.
Space has never been more fundamental to security and modern economies as space infrastructure is vital to defence, communications, navigation, finance, energy, and emergency response. In the UK, the sector is valued at £18.6 billion; the European Space Agency (ESA) has confirmed a budget of €22.1 billion from 2026-28; and the global industry is predicted to be worth $1 trillion by 2030. Space-Comm Expo 2026 is the largest and most influential space industry event ever held in the UK. The event will welcome over 5,400 delegates, 250 exhibitors, and 200 speakers from over 50 countries, with inspirational speakers and cutting-edge technology, exploring new opportunities to accelerate the future of the European space industry.
“Equipment destined for use in space demands absolute precision because the harsh operating environment means that the smallest discrepancy can lead to catastrophic mission failure,” said Steven Edwards, Head of Product Management at Pickering. “Equipment must reliably perform under extreme temperatures, pressures, and vibrations while seamlessly integrating complex systems to ensure flawless operation. This means that test professionals in the rocket, satellite, and space industries face unique challenges and demand nothing less than excellence. With deep expertise in industry-standard COTS PXI, LXI, and USB switching, simulation, and instrumentation for rocket, satellite, and space test systems, Pickering ensures that test systems are reliable, efficient, and scalable.”
Also on booth A46, Pickering will display:
- 21-slot PXIe chassis (42-927)
- XI resistor module (40-297)
- PXI fault insertion module (40-200)
- PXI resolver module (41-670)
LXI & PXI microwave modules (60-890 & 40-890)
Along with its switching and simulation solutions, Pickering will also show reed relays from its relay division and custom cable assemblies from its connectivity division. Pickering Interfaces stands behind its manufactured products with a standard three-year warranty and guaranteed long-term product support.
